The terms for using Treat.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of treatx.bio and the services offered by Argos Bio, Inc., doing business as Treat Bio (“Treat,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using our site or Services, you agree to these Terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use our Services, join the waitlist, enroll a pet in a study, or submit a study proposal as a Partner.

What Treat does

Treat connects pet parents with home-based pets to research studies run by biotech, pharma, pet food, supplement, and other companies (“Partners”), and helps Partners design, recruit for, and run those studies.

For Pet Parents

• Participation is voluntary. Joining our waitlist doesn't enroll your pet in any specific study. You choose whether to join each study you're matched to.
• Each study has its own terms. Before your pet starts a specific study, you'll be given that study's own terms and conditions, covering things like what's involved, what perks or compensation are offered, and anything else specific to that study. Those terms apply in addition to these general Terms.
• You can withdraw at any time. You can pull your pet out of a study whenever you need to, consistent with that study's terms.
• Products tested in our studies: Treat does not develop, manufacture, or sell the products or supplements used in our studies, our Partners do. We do our own due diligence on a product before including it in a study, and we don't run “safety studies,” meaning any product used in a Treat study has already been established as safe. That said, Treat is not liable for the products themselves, their formulation, or their manufacturers.

For Partners

• Submitting a proposal isn't a contract. Using our proposal builder or otherwise sending us study details is a request for a proposal, not a binding agreement to run a study. The actual engagement, including scope, pricing, and timeline, is governed by a separate agreement between you and Treat.
• Confidentiality. We treat the study and business details you share with us as confidential, and we ask the same of you regarding any non-public information we share with you in the course of scoping or running a study.
• Data we provide you. Data we share with you about study participants is anonymized unless a specific study is designed to share identifiable information, in which case that's disclosed to and agreed to by the relevant Pet Parent in that study's own terms.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse our Services: no submitting false information, no interfering with the site's operation, and no using the Services for anything unlawful.

Intellectual property

Our site, branding, and content belong to Treat. Information and content you submit to us (photos, survey answers, study proposals, and similar) remains yours, but you grant us the right to use it to run our Services, conduct our research, and improve our systems.

Disclaimers

Our Services are provided “as is.” We don't guarantee any specific outcome from participating in or sponsoring a study. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Treat disclaims all warranties, express or implied, regarding the Services.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Treat is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services.

Termination

We can suspend or terminate access to our Services for anyone who violates these Terms. You can stop using our Services at any time.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new effective date. Continuing to use our Services after an update means you accept the new Terms.
